Staring at the Heavens |
|
| This white on black sketch comes from a line in the song Pilgrim Waiting. “Stare at the heavens all night long, you’ll never fine the meaning of life.” But, I should point out that the woman this picture is not the woman who inspired the song. Probably most importantly, on the night in question, we were both fully clothed. The song actually comes from a night we were driving around talking about God and hit a point were we could go left, right or across into a parking lot. When I ask if she preferred going left or right she said “what if the meaning of life is in the parking lot.” I said then we won’t find it tonight.
But back to the image: In this sketch the nakedness is not actually intended to be sexually provocative. It is vulnerable and defenseless. She is in front of the wall not hiding behind it.
